Thom Bettridge is a New York–based editor, writer, and creative director. His resume includes leading roles at publications like 032c, Interview Magazine, and Highsnobiety. In late 2024, Bettridge was appointed editor-in-chief and chief brand officer of i-D magazine. Under his direction, i-D has undergone some exciting changes. In March, the magazine relaunched its print edition – its first since 2019 – with the Spring/Summer 2025 “Unknown Issue.” The issue nods to i-D’s legacy while also signaling a bold new future – one that shifts from the “attention era to a retention era.” You can get your copy here. Lucky for us, Thom’s here to tell us what he’s been into.

My fleet of suitcases is unrivaled — shout out Rimowa as well — but the Tall 4 Wheeled Duffel is the unsung hero. People avoid Tumi because it gives off a white collar dystopian vibe, but that’s what I like about it. And the organization/construction of this suitcase is so incredibly handy. The separate panel just for shoes? Heaven.

I’m in the process of curing my sweet tooth. And I find the packaging of these a great way to “micro-dose” eating candy.

I recently went on eBay and bought four of these to have in rotation in my wardrobe…because fuck ICE. Fuck all cops actually.

I’m so happy I own a doomsday supply of this stuff, because it got banned in the USA at the beginning of this year. Putting it on sometimes feels like you’re creme brulee-torching your face, but you look so good after. I also love the peachy-pearly packaging — very 1980s Palm Beach.

My brain is too destroyed by years of working on the internet to keep a notebook that reads like a coherent thing I would want to revisit. Instead, this giant memo pad where i can peel off the top page and toss it in the trash suits me (and probably a lot of you) much better.
