there are many well rounded and creative intellectuals here so i have a bit of an out there question. when you think of painting, drawing or any sort of visual art there are like three chief means of expression that make up the structure of a piece: light, line/contour and color. from the standpoint of composing a song, what do you think the “light, line, and color” are in terms of music? this is not a pressing question just a thought i had and didn’t know where else to share. also say for an artist like matisse, line and color are like the primary focus of his recognizable style whereas impressionist painting focuses more on light and color and not so much line. so i also wonder how that translates to music. anyways. i <3 rambling
