I’m talking about that book you grabbed by chance at the shop because it was on sale for $1 and you simply liked the cover. The book that has collected dust for years and you initially read out of sympathy. It can be a book that was pivotal in that moment of your life or just a sweet story that you really enjoyed. Anything. :) I’ll go first! Sweet Mystery: A Book of Remembering - Judith Hillman Paterson. This was an emotional memoir recounting the author’s childhood, exploring her family’s struggles with alcoholism, mental illness, and denial- pondering on the impact and strength of the human spirit while in the face of trauma. This was an emotional read for me. I really dove into this one and felt it all as if I was there with her. I left this book with a warmth in my heart for the good that is out there and the love that is ever-present despite the darkness.
