Restaurants come and go. But also, some are forever. I was waiting in a long line at Mario’s Italian Ice on Sunday, feeling grateful that this small seasonal business is still thriving. And it made me wonder, what’s the best bite in Chicago….? Where are you taking your out of town friends? What do you crave? Where do you frequent and what is your order? As for Mario’s, my typical order is cantaloupe and pomegranate, with big chunks of frozen melon mixed into the ice. Perfect sticky summer treat.
