Iām gluing all the end papers in by hand. Momās helping. In fact, my next scandal will definitely be the incredibly poor working conditions over here at CC HQ. Iām not paying her anything, which is truly an unlivable wage. But if youād like to buy a first edition with no human rights ethics violations on the back end, Iād suggest Chelsea Hodsonās very first title from Rose Books. Itās a double first! First edition of the first book from a new imprint! I canāt wait to gesticulate wildly to it as I swear to my great grandchildren that once upon a time I was cool girl with cool taste. I canāt wait for your own great grandchildren to one day sell the internet heirloom that is Scammer at auction for a tidy profit.

I very pathetically and desperately read just about anything promised to appeal for "fans of Gillian Flynn". This is the 1 in 50 that delivers, and not as a rip off or homage, but its own specific dark jewel. Just a riveting and very awful (positive) novel. So rarely does something capture this part of childhood, the very primal and un-socialized us vs. them, me vs. you, jealousy and confused pre-maturity longing and disgust. Crazy!

Surprised no oneās mentioned it yet, especially because I think Cash was tapped for a rec list, but this one floored me when it came out about a year ago.
Funny. Short. Unpredictable. And if you need more convincing, it has blurbs from the likes of Tao Lin, Chelsea Hodson and Garielle Lutz.

Ever heard of it?! You need it more than you think you do! Start with spools of 1.5 inch ādouble-facedā satin (Iāve linked my favorite Amazon brand) in the specific colors of: black, crimson, turquoise, goldenrod/marigold, and sort of a icy, slate-gray, periwinkle blue. A deep, wine-red burgundy in .5 inch velvet and an Easter-y, baby pink (or blue or yellow or lilac!) in .25 inch satin will also come in surprisingly handy. Use for beautifying hairstyles, presents, and bouquets of all kinds. Giving someone a single flower is made a thousand times fancier just by tying a bow on it.

Go type āmobilesā into the search bar on Etsy. The results dazzle. And this kind of art takes up zero floor or wall space in an apartment! Matte, metallic, felted, wood, stained glass, sea glass, origami, Calder riffsā¦ Mobiles have it all and Etsy has all the mobilesāgood ones start as low as $35. Technically their correct term is ākinetic sculptures,ā but I call my own collection my houseās āhanging gardens.ā

If the heel isnāt walkable then just call it what it is: A tiny art installation for your closet. Unwalkable shoes sit on shelves like small leather sculptures! The very purpose of shoes is to increase your mobility and comfortānot to limit your stamina and plans for the night! Stop wasting money and start engaging with reality instead. You will never wear them. Save the money.
