Something I think about a lot is a W Magazine interview where Annette Bening lists her favorite emojis: “I’ve been using that loudspeaker one. It means I’m making noise about something.” It means I’m making noise about something! That sentence is magic. My favorite emoji is the one that’s the silhouette of a person running their mouth — it means I’m gossiping, hollering, giving instructions or delivering a demand. In short: it means I’m making noise about something.

Getting shit framed is, by a wide margin, the most adult thing I do. It’s luxurious! I started framing magazines I’d written cover stories for — silly, stupidly celebratory — and now I frame movie posters and stills. (I’m addicted to Posteritati.) Framing is more than an errand, it’s a ritual. It’s a way of saying: “I love this $100 and a custom cut piece of glass-worth.” I go to Framebridge because it’s closest to my apartment.

The hyaluronic acid serum. I got a sample from Emily Montague at Shani Darden and was hooked. It’s bad that this serum is so expensive, but it’s even worse that it’s absolutely worth it. I pat it into my skin on select mornings — budgeting! — and I look like a new person. Makes my skin say: Ain't no miles on this here new body.
