I have been to Florida with my family recently and picked this up in a local bookshop: deeply personal and somehow also a sort of documentary, a portrait of a place.

This is a Rec on how to stay sane, not how to get out, unfortunately. I have been (mostly) unemployed for like almost a year aside from short stints or gigs. it’s been awful awful awful BUT AMC A List became my light at the end of the tunnel, truly. $25 a month for 3 β€œfree” movies every week. I use it as a treat after trudging through applications or to have something to look forward to. And, yes, you can watch as many free movies as you want on your laptop in your room but having a place to go or a plan at the end of a grueling day is great.

I know it's soup season, but I loved making and sharing a dish that feels fresh and vaguely summery. NYT Cooking Recipe is linked, but i'm happy to share screenshots.

The first movie of Justine Triet, who directed Anatomy of a Fall, is a chaotic investigation of the line between scripted and caught, between truth and fiction, between recollection and notes. Lots of baby's (and adults') screams.
