Yes, a lot of people still care. We've kinda built a society that burns people out for caring. And when resources are this hard to come by it can be hard for overworked and underpaid people to show it. But there are a lot of people who still care. Sometimes it's not the people who you expect. Be kind and caring and you will get that energy back.
Say hi to your neighbors. Join volunteer groups. Find clubs or classes for things you're passionate about. Go out of your way to do things for your friends. Take them to the airport. Bring them food if you make some. Support people when they do cool things, attend small shows and support small businesses.
Don't do it with the intention of getting it back and make sure you take care of yourself too, but the more of that energy you put out the more you will see it reflected back to you. It's so important to keep caring even when it's hard. It's never hopeless. The smallest things can really change people days.
