the movie is so big and dumb and American that I can’t help but love it. an americanized godzilla takes over NYC with three people from the cast of the simpsons. the soundtrack is so 90s in a mix of good and bad ways. ben folds, green day, wallflowers, rage against the machine, and puff daddy lmao. i wasn’t a huge ben folds fan but “air” is really good.
i may be very biased on this because as a kid the monster really appealed to me… this movie is actually really stupid, the soundtrack is no one’s best work, and the ending is awful but the chubby candy addicted mayor is so funny and they really don’t make em like this anymore, not even big dumb movies.
thinking about it, i really appreciate how many awful movies my parents sat through for me.

This is probably one of my favorite movies. It’s also awful. With a stacked cast of Kate Hudson, Matthew McConaughey, Kevin Hart, Donald Sutherland, it might make you wonder, why the fuck haven’t you heard of it. Well it sucks. It’s like watching reality TV, a car crash you can‘t take your eyes off of. It’s somehow bad but in a really good way. Bad in a way where you could see how it could have been good but it’s not disappointing the way it turned out. I love this movie. If you’re looking for a good, bad time, I recommend it.

good bad: repo the genetic opera. the actual movie is amazing and funny with a great soundtrack, but it is pretty strange and relatively low budget
bad good: the neon demon (this is a hot take). it tries too hard to be ‘art house’ horror and falls flat for me. just really boring

guys this is happening now and lasts about a week. it’s so stunning and beautiful. meadows of little purple flowers no taller than grass. little bees coming out of their slumber to get that nectar. also saffron comes from a crocus! crazy! life is so beautiful.
