The hard cut from a real actor to a dummy with stuffed limbs flopping around is so fucking funny. Applies to dog characters also—see Jack Black punting Baxter off a bridge in Anchorman. This is the highest form of comedy in my opinion.

Where do I begin with this one? I thought this movie was hilarious when I was 6 years old. I watched it again and realized why: this movie was written by actual 5 year olds. I will never forgive Dana Carvey for bringing this plague to life. This diseased necrotic foot of a movie makes you lose brain cells every time you watch it. If you want to ruin someone’s night watch this with them.

I’m a huge Ben Stiller fan in general actually!! I can’t imagine that anyone would think this movie is bad and if they do they need help. but it is definitely goofy. Obviously there are so many classic moments but this scene made me cry laughing the first time I saw it

just watched for the first time and it’s def a new fav. carl reiner has such a specific directing style, his movies feel like cartoons that come to life - peoples body movements and noises are so over the top and playful. this is the first movie to make me laugh out loud in a while…

This NYT piece from last year explains why it’s actually a Good and Normal thing to do. I used to have like six in the bed at once but recently culled my crew to two practical ones: this sleeping Charmander plushie, which I hug while I’m in the fetal position, and an Ugly Doll I put between my knees because it’s nice and flat. They're so comfy and I fall asleep in 30 seconds like this (also they’re cute and I love them)

Consciousness can be agonizing but it's also a miracle. Sometimes the pressure to make the most of it feels debilitating. There's so much I want to do, and I have to remind that the stuff that really gives life meaning isn't hard to access. I think making a true effort to know yourself, make connections with the people around you, and observe and engage with the world are more than enough reasons to justify your existence.
