Listen. shoegaze is fucking dope. not novel but it’s even better when it’s scary. I would recommend the song Thursday on Wings of Joy. The whole album is just out of control. The beautiful nymphette vocals that sound right out of the BCE, the liberal strings, the suspense, the drama. sounds like taking one too many oxycontin. last time i did that it was 2016 but i was listening to spooky black x clams casino (obviously)

This current trend of clean-tone shoegaze is drab. Shoegaze was at its peak when it sounded like vibrators being held up to the mic. I’m really really into this French band KG right now: They were active in the 90s and sound like MBV’s first album / The Jesus and Mary Chain. “Sex Toy Box” is a perfect song.

a shoegaze-y beautiful masterpiece. the few lyrics that are in their songs are obscure and hard to make anything out of, plus the vocals are fairly difficult to decipher- almost like you're listening in a different language. whimsical, pretty, overwhelming (in a good way), feels like you're a baby learning about the world for the first time.
