Every couple months I've started to make a batch of cookie dough and freeze it in portions for later. It simultaneously keeps me from eating a whole dozen cookies within a few days, and also means I'm 15 minutes from warm cookies whenever I get the craving!

Especially with tea, coffee, porridge, ice cream, etc. Warning: they are highly addictive and you WILL eat the entire packet within days

My go to for when I need to cook something but don’t want to cook anything. Fry up a diced onion in a pot till it starts to brown. Toss in a cup of lentils and add 3.5 cups of water. Season with a decent amount of salt, bring to a boil, cover and simmer for about 20. Then stir in 1/3 cup of rice, cover and simmer, stirring occasionally, until the rice is cooked, the lentils are very tender and the whole thing has a porridge consistency, another 20-25 (but start looking out for doneness after 15). The lentils might stick at the bottom toward the end but that’s fine; let it sit for a few minutes when it’s done cooking then scrape and stir in the lentils at the bottom. adjust salt, season with pepper and if you want, cumin, and stir in about 1/4 cup of good olive oil. There’s dinner. She’s done in an hour and most of it is hands off. Deceptively tasty and satisfying for how simple it is.
