prepare for a whimsical journey amigo. Los Hijos Del Sol and Los Zheros are a great jumping off point. Cuarto Oscuro is great. Check out the Roots of Chicha compilation album!
this is some quirked-up psychedelic hypnagogic Cumbia so maybe not the go if youre looking for something a bit more pure, but it came up on shuffle at 3am while i was half asleep and blew my freaking noggin!
the best album i’ve heard in recent memory. what an incredibly chaotic, nostalgic, blown out, thunderfuck of a record.
carried me through a rapturous heartbreak.
riyl: cumbia, arca, hyenas, the southwest, decolonization, trucks, sluts
when I get bored of my music, I’ll often search for random genres and throw in a language, country, or city and find some absolute units !!
specially fun when you know none of the words, the world is your oyster.

steel cut oats soaked in flax milk, a little maple syrup, and cold brew overnight. then top with plant based yogurt (coconut is good) a dusting of cocoa powder, and a couple chocolate chips (not too decadent now!)
went to the camera museum in south plainfield NJ which was in a decrepit mansion run by two lovely senile men. ended up getting a free hi8 camera and books out of it so dont forget these strange pockets of your municipality
Something so decadent about raspberries and blackberries... even without a side of cream. Eating numerous little mini flavor bombs instead of carving a larger beast. The bonbons of the fruit family.
IN SEASON cherries are also unbeatable. Grapefruit in the winter is fabulous. Sumo Oranges too what a revelation
my childhood favorite was mangoes but I find them very inconsistent in quality in my supermarkets.
