how would you feel if someone gave you a task at your job 10 minutes before you were supposed to leave and you had to stay to finish it and also you couldn’t rush it you had to take as long as the other person told you to ?
i’ll assume not great. I was a host at a restaurant for a while and servers and line cooks and managers would all be annoyed. could be different place to place, But generally speaking, your service and food will be better if there’s no rush
Yeaaahhh not the best, some spots will do it (sometimes begrudgingly). on a busy night it can be fine and good to get more people seated before close, but on a slow boring night the kitchen has probably already been breaking down and everyones ready to go home.
Also I don't think it seems like a fun experience to order in less than 10 minutes hahah
You know they’re probably just gonna say “yeah” (or the occasional “I haven’t tried it, but I hear it’s good”), but one of these days someone’s gonna say “oh no, don’t get that, everyone hates that” and it’ll all be worth it
40-60 year old people get laid off daily after 15+ years in an industry and have to restart. You’re too young to even know life’s all about restarting and it’s all relative. Fall in love with the process of learning and it’ll never be scary. You might even end up loving what you pivot too. You’ll be fine.
