rereading underland by robert macfarlane - he’s a naturalist and explorer and his prose is bonkers in yonkers. i’m in the chapter about fishing off the coast of norway and discussing the continental shelf drop-off/battle over oil drilling. also reading a radiant curve by luci tapahonso, a mix of poems and prose! when i finish up underland i will be fully ushering in summer w tove jansson’s the summer book :)
Gazpacho only in the late summer, persimmons only in the winter, etc. just because we can import anything from anywhere anytime doesn’t mean we should. Nothing is special if you can have it whenever you want it.
