Life is just nicer when you can feed your neighbours cat cause shes in hospital (she is ok). i work part time for the woman who lives 2 doors down typing and editing because sheโs partially sighted. Something so fulfilling about you work feeling connected to your community. Went to feed Henry and he sat on me foot. Makes me wanna befriend all my neighbours.

I have recently been volunteering at a charity shop on my street. I love it, I love being a part of my own area and meeting the people who live near me. There's something about a charity shop that draws wonderfully interesting people who really, really want to chat. It's lovely and I love valuing and being valued. Plus, my manager always gives me chocolate biscuits.

doing something for someone who lives near you. could be the move. lend them some salt. they are your neighbor.

Borrow a cup of sugar or ask to use their spare wrench. Offer an egg or two or feed their cat.

I am by no means traditionally religious, but I fully understand how being in the presence of beautiful stained glass can feel like being with god. ALWAYS stop off at a church on the way if you think it might have good stained glass. The bluebells in the bottom right corner of this made me loose my breath for a moment.
