i can’t stop giving away my things to the mysterious sprites who come fetch them in the night. they leave the box empty as can be each day. u probably have too many things anyway

The urgency makes my brain shut off sentimentality and emotionality. I got rid of so many cute/nice things that I honestly don’t think about anymore. I have one vintage strawberry mug i LOVE, why have another that I only like a lot? Started out with donations I had planned and sorted but when it came down to the wire, we ended up putting everything on the porch for free and it was incredible how quickly everything was taken and rehomed. Very nice to have people get excited about getting a desk, microwave, whatever and the genuine gratitude. That strawberry mug? Our new neighbors snapped it up and said ”are you SURE you don’t want this?!? it’s so cute!!” Yep, that’s yours now, enjoy it!!! still need to do this with clothes as that’s my fatal flaw but works with objects.

i’m moving out soon and i’ve been in a giant empty house all summer and it has successfully driven me insane multiple times, and i’m still in the process of throwing things out day by day so every day the space i’ve known for three years is only getting emptier so i started leaving clean laundry in a little pile, unread new yorkers in a different pile, a stuffed animal to be put in vacuum bag but rn just sits on top of an opened and packed suitcase full of stuff, a bag of things to be thrown out right besides my bed, and i‘m proud to say that my room has never looked messier this is the one time that i’m sure somehow the mess is helping my mental health instead of making it worse

i stay up late a lot of the time for no reason other than to keep the doors of the day open to potential, but i’ve started taking melatonin gummies and magnesium (also preferably gunmies) at like 10pm and just putting myself to bed and it actually rocks. it does not make me feel like i wasted my night the way i feared it would and my future self is always happy i did it if the m&m gummies don’t cut it i also recommend a weighted blanket and some background noise (i like podcasts about things that are only marginally interesting to me. last night i learned about the economics of bubble tea idk)
