inspired by Philz Coffee in San Francisco! i pluck a few leaves off my a thriving mint plant & muddle it in the bottom of a glass with some honey syrup. top with cold brew or vietnamese coffee, then add milk/sweetener of choice (this week it’s been Trader Joe’s brown sugar oat creamer). add ice, stir & enjoy! a refreshing spring/summer bevvy.

I know I can't recreate Philz level coffee with my shitty instant coffee but I've gotten as close as one can get. As a note for the reader, I do measure these with my heart but I've given estimated measurements so you can understand the ratios. Please remember it's more of a vibe. in a mug: 2 teaspoons instant coffee a few dashes of cinnamon 1/2 cup hot water mix it up in a jar: 3/4 tablespoon of brown sugar (you might be like hey moonbeams, that's a lot of sugar, well I now believe that coffee shop coffee tastes better because they are not afraid of consequences) 1/4 cup half and half a splash of milk close the lid and shake aggressively (I'm sure if you have a milk frother, now might be the time) put a few ice cubes into your hot coffee mug, swirl it around and pour it into your sweet creamer jar, this a super sweet and creamy dessert coffee, and it is so smooth and delicious, I might end up having a problem

take a glass add ice. fill it up halfway with orange juice then pour cold coffee or cold brew over it slowly - you want to see the separation of the liquids. Then stir with a spoon and enjoy. You can top it off with some seltzer if you want it more spritz-like

after five years of grad school and subsequent job search, i can finally say i have successfully changed careers 😭 i start my new job counseling kids at a community mental health clinic on Monday. yesterday was my last shift at the grocery store that was an escape from my horrible corporate job and a sustaining force throughout grad school. it’s so bittersweet to leave the sweetest coworkers i’ve ever had and the most fun i’ve had at work. it’s immeasurably healing to quit a job for only good reasons. my coworkers got me a cake, everyone wrote notes in a card, and the goodbyes throughout the day made my heart swell. i even got to tell the good news to my favorite instacarter 🥺 after i clocked out for the last time, my friends joined me for gelato at the cafe and we strolled the store for a final time, this time as simply a loyal customer.
