I’m not saying to use the 98¢ stuff you find at Walmart, but Pantene does just fine. IMO, my hair thrives on the C-list brands I grew up using

now time and place of course…i understand if you’re working with a 4b 4c situation garnier fructis isn’t gonna help you much but why am i paying 2-3x what a white girl would pay for her haircare just to make sure my hair doesn’t look a mess?? (and trust if i came into work with my hair looking crazy i would be dealt with unfairly). on top of that half of the shit is behind lock and key when you go to buy it at a store! like oh i wonder why :/ there is no way you can’t make a curl and coil friendly formula that isn’t $15-20 minimum. i also think buying co-wash is kind of a scam personally. always so expensive and i feel like i could just use a leave-in. but also when i was using a designated co-wash it still didn’t help much. the buildup was crazy and i already only wash my hair once a week. even in between regular shampoo washes, co-washing was tearing my scalp tf up. i love the brand skala brazil for this reason. they’ve got a lot of co-wash and deep/leave in conditioners for under ten dollars a lot of time and they work! brazil is such an ethnically diverse place with a ton of black people in particular, so these sort of hair products appear to be more readily available than they are in america. i’m rambling now but i hate paying more to be presentable to the predominantly white public. also a “white girl” shampoo is way easier on my scalp than co-washing i fear (again time and place i realize everyone can’t do that). but again i shouldn’t have to pay an arm and a leg just because i have “ethnic” hair.
