I was afraid of all of the things a woman has been told to be wary of when traveling solo, and thankfully none of those fears were realized. Instead, I unlocked a new appreciation for the magic of traveling alone.
Whether or not it was conscious, I ended up meeting and interacting with really cool older women. One of whom, I am convinced was myself from the future. Another I had the pleasure of sharing a campsite with, her name was Lynn. She told me how she got to the states, a long and amazing story from NZ to Chile (during Pinochet) to New Mexico. The next day was her 70th birthday, she was also traveling solo πβ¨.

Last summer I went on a near full month road trip with 3 of my close friends, starting in Seattle down to Mexico then back up to Utah.
It got me out of several comfort zones and pushed me to the edge constantly in the best way.
Definitely a trip Iβll forever think and talk about. So grateful for those three.

groups of people driving 1/3 of the way across the globe from the czech republic to mongolia in the cheapest, shittiest cars possible. these videos tend to have a real βthe true journey was the friends we made along the wayβ type of vibe that I find heartwarming. a nice antidote to sanitized aspirational travel influencer content. linking my favorite but there are many different groups who have vlogged their trip!
