Instead of just meeting up for dinner or whatever they fit into the nooks n crannies of your day and it’s like microdosing hanging out all the time again

The best $25 I spend every month. Literally pays for itself if you see one movie plus if I see a bad movie I don’t feel like I wasted money

I recently watched The Monkey for free at Chicago's Music Box Theatre — and even stuck around for Perkin's Q&A session. I have to say, it was the best movie-going experience I've ever had. An organist played the score with diabolical cymbals in the background — come on! And the movie was hilarious and equal parts gory!

Staying at the Roxy in NY (formerly the Tribeca Grand) is akin to being on an elegant cruise in Manhattan. It’s my home away from home in the city. Everything is there: from live jazz in the massive atrium lobby with the glass elevator zipping up and down and the divine food and drinks (I recommend the lobster roll and a mescal cocktail) in recessed leather booths shaped like teacups, to the gorgeous red velvet theater below - which offers the best films on screen in Manhattan - curated by the brilliant Illyse Singer. After attending a killer film and fascinating Q&A, retreat to the Django, the speakeasy next door, which stays open til 4AM and is often where the hottest underground music acts play… What else could you ask for?

My dad put me on to Trust when I was in high school and it’s been special to me ever since. We also rented Henry Fool from the local video spot and saw Fay Grimm in theaters together at the Angelika. These movies have a sensibility I really associate with him: poignant but lighthearted, experimental but still inviting, always intentional.

Pop masterpiece that gets the energy up, makes everyone feel like they’re in the driving around scene of a 90’s teen movie, builds to a huge falsetto finish. A mellower crowd would also resonate w “Jumper.” If you feel like they know the whole album, “Losing a Whole Year” or “The Background” will body them.

We use eyemasks to block light and headphones to block sounds - use a roll-on essential oil under your nose and on your temples to block unpleasant smells, and thus unpleasant vibes. I like lavender for its calming effect🪻
