I still wear docs Bc I was lucky enough to get the lifetime warranty ones in 2016, so I’ve gone through like 4 or 5 pairs since then. The quality has TANKED. they last me like max two years before they’re falling apart.

try to find them irl so you can ensure they’re not like fucked up or anything. my understanding is that they started cutting corners on quality in the early 00s by no longer making them in england, they also no longer offer repairs which sucks (as soft noted they do kinda suck now!) i have 2 pair of docs shoes and 1 sandal and they’re… okay but the wear and tear is noticeable and started way too early (did not learn until recently what detailed above! if i did i would’ve got “vintage” or another brand). if not i would look into other brands

i'd only buy the real leather boots because those are still sort of good. for shoes i now have camper loafers, theyre amazing. one year wearing them at least twice a week and they're still perfect

Ive had these for about 10 years and only retired them last year bc the sole and the leather both completely cracked. Have climbed mountains in these, wore them practically everyday (even in summer) and will still wear them on nights out (the spilled beer on the floor keeps me from slipping) (last picture is from 2017, yes I did not take good care of them, but they still lasted me ages)

Gazpacho only in the late summer, persimmons only in the winter, etc. just because we can import anything from anywhere anytime doesn’t mean we should. Nothing is special if you can have it whenever you want it.
