being curious is in and being nonchalant is out (also I’ve been reading essays on challengers for weeks now and it’s only made the movie that much more interesting).

This is a Rec on how to stay sane, not how to get out, unfortunately. I have been (mostly) unemployed for like almost a year aside from short stints or gigs. it’s been awful awful awful BUT AMC A List became my light at the end of the tunnel, truly. $25 a month for 3 “free” movies every week. I use it as a treat after trudging through applications or to have something to look forward to. And, yes, you can watch as many free movies as you want on your laptop in your room but having a place to go or a plan at the end of a grueling day is great.

there's nothing better for our current short and shorter attention spans than a good (very) long movie. yesterday I watched milos forman's Amadeus (1984) for the first time and truly cannot believe it took me this long. A spectacle from start to finish - which made the 3 hours absolutely fly by. maybe I'll upgrade to sergey bondarchuk's War and Peace next.

is All Things Must Pass the best thing an ex beatle has done? Unquestionably so, yes. However, when it comes to Paul McCartney's solo albums, one can never be done discovering, mostly because the guy just did SO much stuff, some of it strange, and a lot of it works. for example, Temporary Secretary is a weird funky little track that I simply cannot get out of my head. and Wing's Wild Life is kind of a masterpiece, really. definitely worth a deep dive.
