that’s how we did it back in my day. sometimes even months in advance. now i’m lucky if i have two weeks notice. (and the friday the tickets go on sale is always, of course, the unpaid week of my biweekly pay).
at my old job we used to get free concert tickets and I’d always take them and feel bad about not knowing them. I saw a show once without knowing the acts but that’s because it was in France and the people took me to the venue just assured me we’d get in
even though the show is in a city you do not live in and you can’t realistically afford an airbnb or hotel for the night 💋
bc who knows when the next tour will be, or if they blow up and then you never get the small venue experience again.
