So neat, took a ferry to France there one time and I actually wouldn’t recommend that but the cliffs are truly beautiful

Drove up this weekend with friends! I’ve never been to England, but the cottages had a real Britishness to them. We also saw James Dean’s goggles on the way back.

I love visiting this park whether it’s clear and sunny or gray and foggy. Different vibes but always beautiful with the iconic rocky coast. The waves were pretty big today so it was a pleasure to take in the sights and sounds of them crashing in their ebb and flow, washing over the rocks, receding back into the ocean, rinse and repeat. It’s already breathtaking to be by the ocean in all her beauty and vastness and to be reminded of how small we really are. Rocky coasts like at Two Lights also offer that feeling of smallness in a temporal sense, as we only witness an infinitesimal moment within the grand timeline of coastal erosion, while sitting on the rocks that have been shaped and continue to be shaped by the ocean. Anyways, highly recommend visiting if you happen to be in southern Maine, healing is only a 20 minute drive from Portland :)

Just got back from a trip to Claddaghduff in Ireland. We stayed next door to the cottage we used to stay in when I was a kid. It’s opposite Omey Island which is a tidal island meaning you can walk over to it across the sand when the tide is out twice a day. It’s about a 4km walk to get to the other side of the island. I remember walking up to the pub to use their payphone and call the nintendo hotline in the 90s when I was stuck in my Zelda game. The pay phone is gone, but almost everything else here is the same. My bedroom faced Omey and nothing gave me more pleasure than watching the tide come in and out every day and shouting about how far in or out it was. Now I’m back in NYC and kinda devastated I have no tides to watch.
