This is a Rec on how to stay sane, not how to get out, unfortunately.
I have been (mostly) unemployed for like almost a year aside from short stints or gigs. itβs been awful awful awful BUT AMC A List became my light at the end of the tunnel, truly.
$25 a month for 3 βfreeβ movies every week. I use it as a treat after trudging through applications or to have something to look forward to. And, yes, you can watch as many free movies as you want on your laptop in your room but having a place to go or a plan at the end of a grueling day is great.

New York's Hottest Club is....Film Noir Cinema's Thursday Night Film Club! On April 18th at 9PM I'll be showing a personal favorite film of mine at the greatest little theatre in the city, so come on down to 122 Meserole Avenue in Greenpoint. Tickets are $10 cash, $5 beers and $3 sodas, plus a myriad of pierogi joints nearby for you to grab a bite at beforehand.

I got my period at about 4am this morning, 2 days after winter solstice and the day after a full moon. the sybolism of it all, the kismet of it all. i've ended up going inwards in a way I don't often during my period. i welcomed her instead of groaning under the effort. i've decided to see it as cleansing, grounding, enveloping, slowing. i coccooned myself and treated myself right. i dragged my mattress into the garden and stared at the sky for 3 hours. i did """self care""". i feel good. i feel grateful to women who came before me and battled this with less than I have.

I used to be very much a big tee to sleep kinda gal, but about a year ago I inherited a bunch of beautiful vintage matching pyjama sets. i feel like my sleep hygiene and sense of self have both improved immeasurably since then!! I now have some really nice sets that Iβve bought or been given, most recently this Damson Madder set. I feel so GOOD when I get out of the shower and put these bad boys on. Honk shoo mf!!!
