absolutely wonderful watch, went to see it with my best friend and it was both the first musical and play she'd ever watched and we had a lovely time!! banger soundtrack, big on the feels, excellent cast <3
Just saw a performance of HADESTOWN in London! Had a great time, although it's tough not to compare it with the studio album and cast recording from America. The band were superb and most of the cast were great. I wasn't so pleased with the choice to keep natural accents for singing β made a lot of lines / rhymes feel quite forced. Certainly picked up in the second half, which is where the meat off the thing really is.
Put on the robe, turn on adult swim or whatever, crank the ac, eat a late night snack in one bed and sleep in the other. The freedom of impersonal liminal space.
