What closely resembles the user interface
Of an unmanned aircraft designed for combat
Crosshairs
Figures illuminated with infrared
Dart across the screen
Mangled by gunfire
Shrapnel
I’m unsure of what’s more concerning
The question if this is a video game
Or nascent technology
To operate drone strikes remotely
Or the lack of self awareness needed
To operate either on a commercial flight
An iota of relief sets in, I observe
A tiny icon resembling a shopping cart
On the bottom right hand corner

I was flying back home today when it dawned on me just how odd planes just driving around on the ground is. It’s like seeing a mudskipper out of the water or a crow walking on land. It is natural yet seems so unnatural, like take to the sky you winged creature of metal and plastic, do not spend your time here with us terrestrials, fly I say fly!!!
