related to penpaling, I found this website during the pandemic and have been penpals with someone for 4 years 🥹! Postcrossing connects you to random people across the world who also enjoy receiving and sending mail/postcards. They give you a random someone’s address and you send a postcard to them and you’ll receive one back from someone else random. I’ve received cards from people in Uzbekistan, Japan, Finland, etc. and it’s such a joy to get a little slice of life on a card and send a little of yours in return. And they’re great to collect! I have a wall’s worth of cards now

write a postcard to someone across the world! such an awesome way to familiarize yourself with someone’s slice of the world through such a traditional and physical way of communication :) you just request and are given the address of someone completely random across the world! i‘ve gotten a wide range of people from a women in her 50s from germany to an eighth grade boyscout from taiwan! such an awesome experience!!

probably my best discovery of this year started this on Valentine's Day, because I was feeling alone I just write to strangers, and others strangers write to me, and we share everyday things and more unusual happenings I've receive postcards from Portugal, USA, Europe ... I've send cards to Japan, Singapore, Canada ... :) most days I have surprise mail linking you the website (which is safe in my experience) if you want to know more or just ask me, I will gladly answer

i recently started postcrossing. postcrossing is seemingly a very establish, very trusted international post-card-penpal service that basically only grandmas know about. i have sent five cards out so far, i'm waiting to receive my first. its just fun!! its a fun thing to do on a night i get to myself, it's a joy to look forward to — both getting and sending. (usually when grandmas like something i will too)

Inka is an instant coffee-like drink made of roasted barley, rye, chicory, and sugar beets that a Polish friend’s family introduced to me. Inka has no caffeine so you can drink it whenever, and with a little milk, the roasted grains really carry the same warmth as a cup of coffee.

I love hot water bottle not only to have under the covers by my feet in the winter when I fall asleep (like an old timey bed warmer), but also to hold when you’re sad of lonely. Its giving the safety & security of weighted blanket without being suffocating. And there’s so many options for covers! Stuffed animal, wool, a little cable knit hot water bottle sweater, or even knit your own 🫶

His style is loose and playful and he captures whatever he draws so beautifully. Korey draws a lot of quotidian scenes which make me excited just to take a walk around the neighborhood 🫶 @_koreymartin on insta
