recently took a break from my never ending loop of watching sex and the city, and binged the entirety of hbo's hacks. when im in a fragile state of mind shows like satc tend to worsen my mood as i just find myself longing for the character's livelihoods. bedrotting watching carrie bradshaw work a 15 hour work week and frolic around new york in 1000 dollar dresses is not always soup for my soul. this show was a nice break from that as i have no desire to live in vegas or pursue comedy. no envy in my body! just hyuks! sometimes! it is also kind of really corny at parts! but i still thoroughly enjoyed! really easy watch. everything i liked and didn't like about the show clicked for me when i found out it was created by a lot of the same people who worked on broad city.

The best $25 I spend every month. Literally pays for itself if you see one movie plus if I see a bad movie I don’t feel like I wasted money

I recently watched The Monkey for free at Chicago's Music Box Theatre β€” and even stuck around for Perkin's Q&A session. I have to say, it was the best movie-going experience I've ever had. An organist played the score with diabolical cymbals in the background β€” come on! And the movie was hilarious and equal parts gory!

I haven't been in NYC for that long but I've found that the well for film in NYC is pretty deep and you can really find anything you are looking for on a given night. Obscure, Foreign, Indie, Cult Classic, whatever. Screen Slate is a good resource to find whats playing where all around the city. I would also suggest following a lot of the theaters on ig and they will have posts about showings that might pique your interest. Spectacle and Film Noir are pretty cool screening rooms in BK that are pretty low key and DIY if you are looking for an interesting night out. Finally, getting a membership to metrograph, ifc or film forum is a good option if you go to one of them and like it. Reduced prices go along way if you are going to a theater pretty frequently.

i aim to be as contrarian as possible when it comes to men-music (i do not enjoy sharing interests with that of men. sue me.) and have gone most of my life without hearing a single song from any of the "classic" bands. last week while biking i gave in to spotify's recommendations and heard this song for the first time, come to find out its one of the cure's most popular songs of all time 🀣🀣. but wowwwwwwwwwwww. life changed. brain re-wired. ailments healed. needless to say i am obsessed. and just like that........... i have started to broaden my spotify horizons (1/10th of the music in my library is now allowed to be occupied by men).

it is crazy how a chinese restaurant will never disappoint. i may be biased as i am half chinese, but there is literally no better cuisine in the world. good chinese, shitty chinese, any chinese, it is all always delectable. it cannot be fucked up. sitting in a chinese restaurant will always make me feel at home cause no matter where you go they all feel the same. questionable cleaning practices, staff that take a billion years to catch the attention of, and a seemingly endless menu of the most insane food on the planet. long live chinatown.
