A song from my pal Britt Daniel about being logical in a relationship, but nothing is really logical. Trying to do something to be at least conventional or rational, but failing in that effort. Emotion and heart ❤️ always wins out. “No more riding the brakes.” TUFF. A musical beast. It’s like twice as long live and often an encore or last song of the regular set.

Nobody knows how to end an album on a particularly wistful note like my pal Britt Daniel. ‘Vittorio E’ is like the first of many such closers. 💙

Another one of Maddie's fav songs!!! I'm not sure how I found this song, probs through spotify algorithm or something ... butt this song is amazinggg the keys and layering so good.... i love when I show someone a song and they fall in love with it too! showed this to my partner at the time and it became one of his favs too... i love sharing music!!! this entire album is really good I highly recommend! 💒 On our picture shelves (Get on, or get out) Statues mocking me How am I supposed to feel? How am I not put at ease? Talk yourself to sleep Fall into it deep I will wash off mine with rolling waves of worry It doesn't have to feel so wrong Bethany you're riding this one to its grave (the gates) You never understood the difference between someone's beating and refusal to trade Bless these tangled veins (Get on, or get out) None of which will grow the same Now am I supposed to fake it? Now are you so poised, at ease? Think long, think, think long, think think Can you feel it surround me? I think it'll drown me And I wonder how you could say that we (you) really owe you (us) anything Think long, think, think long, think think

I feel like that band's frontman, Britt Daniel, has turned "mood-setting closing track" into something of a cottage industry. The best of these should make you want to replay the album, no? "Everybody's at disadvantage/speaking with their second language"

The man responsible for dozens of Teenage Symphonies to God "Sad songs about happy things" (the first time, as a kid, I can recall the sweet/sour combo of melodies that could make you cry attached to songs about endless, bottomless love) I've long since lost track of how many weddings and funerals I've attended that have featured this song; suffice it to say, "a lot." God only knows what we'd been without him 🙏🏻

Hey tyler hopefully this doesn’t violate some PI.FYI golden rule But after nearly two years of writing, editing and arguing, my book about the EP is coming out in May and can be preordered here: https://hozacrecords.com/product/aifl/ The book is about the origins, history and cultural impact of the EP since these little objects first started coming out in the 50s. Over 50 of my music biz friends then helped me shape the list and review the top 200 ever released, according to us (ha). For those of you who are into this kind of geekery/snobbery, I can’t wait to hear what you think. A labor of love, as all books are! ❤️
