Keeping notes
My desk is cluttered with loose paper full of notes on books and articles and Wikipedia pages I read and half-read. writing down the things that stick with me helps me commit them to memory, and knowing things is nice, especially when the information isnā€™t particularly applicable in my every day lifeā€¦

MY TINY NOTEBOOK
I carry around this tiny notebook everywhere I go and just write down any thought worth remembering. Itā€™s helping me stay off my phone. There are pages full of what wouldā€™ve been tweets when I was more chronically online.Theres a lot of quotes from books Iā€™m reading or substack articles. Sometimes itā€™s just lists of tasks like ā€œremember to refill prescriptionā€.

carrying a messy notebook
there are few things better than pulling out a bulky scribbled notebook and writing down something you want to remember. for my notebook i collect receipts and menus and other inconsequential things to stick in there just so i can remember how my life is now
