had been procrastinating listening to pink floyd for a looooong time, until i was shooting a short film for one of my friends and we had to play "Have a Cigar" for one of the sequences, from that day onwards it became a banger i would come back to often. Finally today I listened to the entire album, and i realize i had been missing out for so long. this is the perfect album to just lay on your bed and zone out to. and i absolutely love when synths are panned extremely left and right. need to listen to some more pink floyd for sure

imbued with a kind of warmth you can only get in a 60’s album. exists in its own little world entirely. ok you’ve got ‘the weight’ right slap bang in the middle of the album and that’s the big pull but we can’t forget the rest!!! ‘lonesome suzie’, ’we can talk’, ‘i shall be released(!!!!)’ like come on now!!!

A friend showed me this album 10 years ago and I don't think I’ve had a bout of depression since that I haven't walked around and listened to it in its entirety. But it kind of morphs depending on your mood. It also is a beautiful album for a summer drive. This is like mazzy star bossa nova. For years I thought it was considered a classic orchestral pop album on par with Pet Sounds or What's Going On or any other late 60s album with an emphasis on arrangement, but there's not much info about it online. On Reddit it’s just a couple people talking about how they like the album cover but don’t care for the album. Anyways, I definitely will be adding a few of these songs to my funeral playlist. But don’t wait until I’m dead.

One of the most aggressively strange albums ever made. Unhinged prog-pop 2000s Pet Sounds with hardcore ADHD. I love it so much. For some reason all summer 2019 I committed myself to falling asleep to it nightly, which strikes me now as an incredibly unbalanced thing to do. It also led to some unconscious plagiarism on my part, accidentally quoting it on music I made after, which was a cool experiment. Every friend I've played it for has either a) fallen head-over-heels for it and or b) told me to never play it around them again or else our friendship would be over. I adore it adore it adore it, it expands my idea of what music can be and how indulgent and unfriendly you can be to your "audience." Check it out if you're inclined towards spazz shit.

I'll start using this website to log albums that I have listened to - like letterboxd but for music! recommended to me by royallmonarch I listened to this yesterday, 16th September, and I recommended it to like 5 more people in my college today. It has grown on me so much. I had never heard of this duo, and i was just blown away. soooo cool! their instrumantation and vocals and ideas, all so fresh and lovely. for some reason i really connected to the song titles also lol. i dont have a proper analysis for this just yet, but i really really enjoyed listening to it and again thank you nick for the reccomendation! more album reviews(?) coming soon next one is Transatlanticism by Death Cab for Cutie (listening to it as im writing this)
