lulu’s is classic dress shopping — can be a bit boring but generally fair prices for average quality. I recently bought a dress to attend a wedding from petal & pup and they have tons of cute options + good quality stuff. I ordered 3 dresses to try on and sent back the ones I didn’t love. Baltic Born is a place like p&p that has cute stuff too. reformation stuff is GORG and high quality if you feel like spending $$$ my pals say rent the runway is also a cool way to get a knockout dress without having to shell out too much, but I’ve never used it personally

I don’t have an active subscription, but nuuly is one of my favorite options to get a little wardrobe refresh for an important event or wedding. It’s a rental service great for trying out new styles that feel a little risky without the commitment, and you can always purchase a piece outright if you fall in love. In the past I’ve literally rented 6 different dress options for a wedding and then just wore my favorite. Then I sent them all back! I love being unburdened by my flighty purchases. I‘m so into these Vivian Midi Dresses ❤️‍🔥

I usually start at depop or poshmark (bc these outfits are often only worn once, ppl love to resell them). If you need a specific color there are a million sites w/ expansive color swatches and affordable options (lulus, aw bridal, etc).

Some of Doen, some of Reformation, also resale sites for both! Etsy also has a lot of nice custom made linen items which can be custom fit for very reasonable prices.

at least casually. don’t delete the accounts but don’t have the apps on your phone either. rediscover your love of reading thru the magic of recognizing titles strangers are holding on the subway. become a subway reader. don’t use sound as an escape from your thoughts/feelings/surroundings. grocery shopping without headphones is actually kind of beautiful! pick up a new hobby or two or three. one of them should be something you’re not good at, and at least one should be no- or low-cost. never. stop. learning. the library, the parks and rec department, and nearby museums offer great materials already but also usually have free lectures or courses. go outside more. like, a lot more. (took this much less literally, so apologies if it’s not what you’re looking for lol — as a narcoleptic I have no tips on how to Not Sleep since Sleep is basically my job)
