This is a Rec on how to stay sane, not how to get out, unfortunately.
I have been (mostly) unemployed for like almost a year aside from short stints or gigs. it’s been awful awful awful BUT AMC A List became my light at the end of the tunnel, truly.
$25 a month for 3 “free” movies every week. I use it as a treat after trudging through applications or to have something to look forward to. And, yes, you can watch as many free movies as you want on your laptop in your room but having a place to go or a plan at the end of a grueling day is great.

I live in Asheville and this area got absolutely smoked by Hurricane Helene. Parts of the area look like warzones. Whole towns were wiped off the map, lives were lost, infrastructure for basic necessities–obliterated. Much of the area is still without running water let alone drinkable water. Officials say the area might not have running water until 2025, drinkable water much later. If you can, donate to Beloved Asheville (@belovedasheville). Our town will need support for years to come to recover.

From the moment I saw her photography–I felt at home. Her work is holistic and redeems the forgotten in our society. Stacy’s photography leaves moral judgment out of the narrative and takes in what it means to be a human who never asked to be born in the first place. I spend a lot of time wondering how she seems to be at the right place at the right time to get her photos.
