there’s a love story in it too, but overall many very Being In Your 20s moments in this film

Literally the platonic ideal of the rom com. It’s a bit of a satire a bit of the real thing, nice bright colors and Ewan McGregor. None of the sad hysteria of the rom coms from that era, thankfully 💕 quite the opposite

underrated mid 90s sapphic film from dir. Maria Maggenti. authentic👏as👏fuck👏. this unbelievably sweet coming of age flick offers lighthearted queer hilarity with the perfectly tolerable dose of romance. TITAOTGIL is truly a gem that leaves overplayed queer tragedy tropes in the trash (where they belong!!!) and surprisingly holds up considering its age. definitely a deep cut for-the-gays™️, but a valuable watch for anyone who enjoys silly and innocent fun <3

Beautiful old movie [1934] that seems to be the blueprint for a lot of commonly used tropes throughout later media. (Enemies to lovers, pretending to be a couple, class / status division, forced proximity, etc.) It’s very fun, very cute, and I very much recommend to anyone in need of a movie to watch

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WORKER’S DAY!!!! i love having a union, i love being a union steward and getting to support my unit. when my union won its contract, i got a pay bump, better benefits, and increased protection as a worker. 🥳
unions help address racial and gender pay gaps, issues workplaces impose on families and those having kids, addressing unsafe conditions, plus things like better health insurance, wages and overtime, weingarten rights to representation, and more!!!

i had it for a little over a year until i was like wow this is actually terrible! i genuinely think it has negatively impacted society by ruining people’s attention spans, having a horrific algorithm, and most of all by the most mind-numbing or outright harmful trends -
fake words that people now use IRL (“unalive”), trad wife tiktok, shein hauls, body-focused fitness vids that encourage fatphobia and unhealthy habits, shallow political/feminist theory and queer discourse, “alpha male” podcaster tiktok, encouraging overconsumption in general, trends ruining local spots or niche things… the list goes on
