the best website / app for travel-planning and itineraries! i use the free version but would consider using paid if i traveled for fun more frequently. you can use as many or as few of the features you’d like, so it’s great for both rigid planners and people who just want a general idea of what they want to do each day features i love: web and mobile versions; can add all different ideas of places to a ā€œplaces to visitā€ list then divvy them up by day; upload plane/train tix and hotel reservations; gives ā€œrecommended placesā€ based on what you’ve saved each day; visual map of your routes (color-coded by day); estimates for driving, transit or walking times btwn each stop; hours/websites are uploaded for most places; allows adding times and cost per place example shown is my itinerary for the day i went to auvers-sur-oise last year :)

ive been using it for over a year now and I love it! you just check in everywhere you go and you can add a photo or caption to your checkin. It creates a timeline of everywhere you’ve been and you can see a map of every place you’ve been to as well. It’s really old and not that well maintained, but it’s one of my favorite things on my phone. And it’s not addictive because there’s nothing to really look at! It’s also useful when people ask for recs for places to go in a city or region since you can just open a map of that location and see where you’ve been and what you’ve liked. It’s more fun if you have other people who use it regularly, but also nice if you just use it on your own!

i’ve used this on many a walk for garden inspo. it’s very accurate, even when you think it wouldn’t be. you can keep using it for free if you just click cancel when it prompts you to pay :-)

is recommending a recommending platform on a recommending platform silly? maybe, but i will not stop going on about this app omg. essentially you follow curators and friends who log their favourite bars, restaurants, shops, hotels, galleries, anything, all over the world. i love city breaks and i’m so much more excited to go somewhere when i’ve saved all kinds of stuff on the map. lots of my all time favourite places i would never have found if not for this. add me if you download it! @arrowsmith

being traditionally cool is really quite boring and iterative, and it’s actually very cool and sexy to geek out about something you like or share bits of knowledge on a topic you’re passionate about

HAPPY INTERNATIONAL WORKER’S DAY!!!! i love having a union, i love being a union steward and getting to support my unit. when my union won its contract, i got a pay bump, better benefits, and increased protection as a worker. 🄳 unions help address racial and gender pay gaps, issues workplaces impose on families and those having kids, addressing unsafe conditions, plus things like better health insurance, wages and overtime, weingarten rights to representation, and more!!! if you don’t have a union but are thinking about forming one, check out AFL-CIO’s page (linked) or Emergency Workplace Organizing Committee. there’s always more power in a union!! āœŠšŸ„–šŸŒ¹

i had it for a little over a year until i was like wow this is actually terrible! i genuinely think it has negatively impacted society by ruining people’s attention spans, having a horrific algorithm, and most of all by the most mind-numbing or outright harmful trends - fake words that people now use IRL (ā€œunaliveā€), trad wife tiktok, shein hauls, body-focused fitness vids that encourage fatphobia and unhealthy habits, shallow political/feminist theory and queer discourse, ā€œalpha maleā€ podcaster tiktok, encouraging overconsumption in general, trends ruining local spots or niche things… the list goes on
