I use a basket as a purse. Purse is yuck: smelly/full of crumbs/abyss. Basket is delight: whimsy, open, easy to carry plums. You can easily see and access everything you have in your basket, but if you wanted to be discreet you could use a scarf to conceal your belongings. What’s in my basket? Wouldn’t you like to know.Â
