anyone who doesn't recommend them to you does not have your best interest at heart. my 1300s are the comfiest shoes i've ever owned. my 996s are a close second
New Balance 990s are the most comfortable shoe. I am convinced. Wanna run? Wanna cool street shoe? Need a shoe to wear with khaki pants?
Then the Birkenstock Arizona. From warm weather to cool weather. From boardwalk strollin' to chores around the house.

I've talked about my fondness for them in other recs but I'm really loving the 2002Rs I just picked up, and they're probably my least favorite pair of NBs I own, after my 996s and 1300s. Still got my eye on some 990v6s as well.
