First watch Roar (1981) starring Tippi Hedren and her daughter Melanie Griffith (Dakota Johnsonās mom) about a white family that moves to Africa to live in a house full of dozens lions thanks to the fatherās career as a researcher (?). Itās been a while, shaky on the plot, but tbh itās a āwhat plot?ā type movie if I remember correctly. Simply canāt look away though!
Then watch the making of film (2017) in which they detail just how many people were injured, lives were lost, and how much money was spent ā and all the other logistical details and consequences of this movie.
As a pairing, these two canāt be beat. Outrageous, bizarre Hollywood types set against actual lions that they lived with in real life. Watched as a double feature during the pandemic and couldnāt stop talking about it for weeks. Positively mind blowing.
