finally watched the netflix show and it was so good - i never really watch horror because i'm easily scared but i liked how this was more about the familial relationships than cheap scares - i also thought the actors were past and present were so well casted i literally thought older hugh was the same actor as young hugh but with makeup on
anyway if anyone has opinions on which mike flanagan show (haunting of bly manor, midnight mass, fall of the house of usher) to watch next, please let me know!

Something about that show and the way it blurred the line between external paranormal forces and the internal mental landscape made me feel uncomfortable to the point where I nearly had to stop watching it. Really well done, but I would not recommend it if living with mental illness.

Which is what Netflix seems to call Mike Flanagan's ouvre on their so obviously just a cable network now. Watched both Haunting's and The Fall of The House of Usher and goddammit if Mike Flanagan isn't out here just quietly making perfect horror.

I usually canโt handle horror media but I forced myself to watch this and its INCREDIBLE OMG. Gory and visceral and truly scary but what an amazing story of a family undone by their own greed, all the performances are amazing, one of my favorite miniseries Iโve ever watched!! Go in blind but prepared to look away lol

today someone told me something about myself and they were just so completely off base that i started questioning my tone and facial expressions bc that was in no way the vibe i was going for
a related anti rec: people who meet you once and assume that they know everything about you (which they obviously donโt)
