I didn’t read this until I was an adult but it’s just so so lovely. It’s smart and funny. I read it after learning it was my husbands favorite book as a kid and I felt like I knew him better after reading it

I was a voracious reader as a child but nothing else (with the exception of Roald Dahl and Beverly Cleary) formed my tastes as much as Norton Juster’s The Phantom Tollbooth. whimsical, clever, delightful, funny, playful, and in love with learning, language, and curiosity.

honestly this was a read from childhood that has always stuck with me and i will go back to. it has such a whimsiness about it that makes you feel like a child again while reading it. gorgeous details that you can envision as well as a fun plot.

I’ve always said this was the book that made me a reader. I have a vivid memory of sitting in the back of my parent’s car reading the chocolate cake scene. Still one of my absolute favorites.

I usually just make myself drip coffee or a single cup of tea during the week but I’ve got a little time so why not make a whole tea service just for me
