this ethiopian nun composed some beautiful songs that perfectly encapsulate the state of always yearning for something. it’a the perfect music to listen to on a plane while playing zelda. my favs are probably ‘ballad of the spirits’ and ‘mother’s love’.
No way to say this without sounding insanely pretentious but. Really lovely and wistful lost (and now remastered) record by an Ethiopian nun from the 1970s <3 Blends a lot of the Ethiopian liturgical tradition with Western textures and a jazz-y, improvisational playfulness... and sounds so intimate like you're in the room with her. I can't find the lyrics anywhere and have no idea what she's saying but I can feel it and it moves me.
Worked hard on set yesterday for over 16 hours and after a good nights sleep I feel happier, calmer, and more alive than I did before it… working alongside interesting and kind people multiplies the benefits
