I canât express enough how beautiful this country was and how much I highly recommend doing the thing youâve always wanted to. I stayed for just over a month, because if staying in an apartment there for a month was less than a big city in the United States, why not? I went everywhere from La Spezia, Cinque Terre (Corniglia pictured), Florence, Rome, Pisa, Lucca, Milan, etc. Take the trip, life is too short!!

This was my first trip out of the country once I got my green card. My wife and I wandered the streets safely, ate more carbs than we should have while losing weight (???), looked at art and buildings that were around when Rome was still running gladiator battles, and met strangers for drinks at a bar and stayed there for 6 hours talking about life. Truly my fave trip. We did Florence and Rome andâŠerrrrâŠI forget the name but itâs the place with all the islands. 10/10 trip. Reach out if you need any recs.

This is my #1 recommendation when helping plan Italy trips for friends. True, there are some beautiful sights to behold if you climb the ghastly hills with the hordes of tourists-mostly honeymooners which bum out married and single people alike. But I promise there are so many other Insta-worthy spots where you wonât have to risk major motion sickness getting there only to spend âŹ40 for the worst âlemonâ risotto (also donât eat risotto south of Florence).
Go to the volcanic islands of Ischia and Procida (picture below of Procida- where the houses are actually colorful!) Go to the Ionian and Adriatic beaches in Puglia! Go to the caves of Matera! There are national parks that look like Colorado but you can eat the best and cheapest pizza while youâre there! The most wonderful people and places can be found in this country but NOT in Positano with the couple from Nassau County guzzling cappuccinos.

I know Iâve ranted about AI before but! Just saw another writer who was doing peer reviews as she was writing chapters with another person; until she found out the other person was using AI for their NOVEL! Blows my mind. She removed this person from her document and sent her a kind but straightforward message about how she wonât be working with her going forward due to the AI usage. I feel like using it for novel writing is one of the most insane uses because #1 this person told me that the AI generated parts of the work werenât even as good as the other personâs normal writing was. #2 letâs say no one noticed and you published with the AI work, so you would be okay if the book did well but it wasnât even truly your writing that people would be praising?? Not to mention of course the morality and environmental impact.
Also, I was shopping around today for a custom leather stamp to start stamping the leather journal covers I make. Thought I found someone to make it until they said to send the logo file over and theyâll send back AI created renderings of a mockup to approve. Now I am starting the search all overđ

So we all think itâs sketchy that Tik Tok is already back right? And that they posted a statement kissing Trumpâs ass and making him out to be the one saving Tik Tok when he isnât even sworn in yet? And now Trump wants the US government to have a 50% ownership, aka turning Tik Tok into state owned media just like I thought was happening. And Iâm sure most people wonât be able to stay away from Tik Tok and Meta which is so disappointing. I want nothing to do with Tik Tok now because I know the app as we knew it is already gone at this point.
