morricone is known for cinematic soundtracks from spaghetti westerns and such, but he's got a whole collection of 1960s lounge music that is just so genuinely fun and silly. something about the dippy little organ in this song and the toot-y french horn just makes me happy.

Vintage italian soundtracks

the most beautiful and relaxing music that i find myself returning to over and over whenever i just want to feel at ease. evokes a specific time and place in my head every time i hear a particularly lovely song. i’ve been obsessed with this one lately.

Once upon a time in the west (Sergio leone western)

Score by the masterful Ennio Morricone. Any score with him at the helm is magical, but this one in particular with the scenes in the film felt like sonic poetry. The film itself is great, but the score is what moved me most.
