i am a HUGE nonfiction junkie, truth is often stranger and more curious than fiction!! my favorite book ever is Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe, it’s such an incredibly well-written and deeply researched story about the troubles that i’m nearly certain the new tv show cannot recreate fully. READ THIS BOOK it is a masterclass on long form journalism and research, and it reads like a novel!! 🇮🇪🇮🇪🇮🇪

game of thrones is RIVETING like just so good, i’m motoring through those books! i also cannot suggest more highly Say Nothing by Patrick Radden Keefe and Killers of the Flower Moon (which was way way way better than movie, i think the movie did a disservice to the original story!!)

its the perfect blend of fiction and nonfiction. Capote is a journalist and wrote the book after investigating a murder but he writes the book as if it were fiction from the perspectives of the victims and killers. He fills in the gaps with dialogue that may have taken place and the feelings the victims might have had during the home invasion. It’s a true story but very engaging read, plus it has a beautiful cover!

READ THIS BOOK!!! a disgraced journalist investigates a reclusive film director after the director's daughter is found dead in an abandoned warehouse in nyc under mysterious circumstances. whatever you think it's gonna be like based on that description, think again. this book blossoms and metamorphosizes into so many different things and somehow manages to ace every single one. i loved it so much that i was making myself only read ONE PAGE A DAY to make it last longer. 600 pages but feels so much shorter. and the best part? it's incredibly immersive, in part because the author utilizes a ton of multimodal aspects to make it more realistic. things like psych ward files, police reports, websites-- pic attached is an example. it's the only book i've ever read that includes such multimodal aspects in a way that feels INCREDIBLY true to life-- i regularly forgot i was reading fiction and started to look up the director's films to add to my watchlist. SO GOOD, read it now!!!

this is the good stuff right here, aquaphor healing balm stick, it’s literally just a thick chapstick that’s for your hands. i was sick and tired of wanting to heal my skin and having to rub all this goop and cream into my hands (getting my fingertips all goopy in the process). this chapstick thing is a LIFESAVER it avoids weird fingertip texture with cream AND it’s incredibly easy to apply to a smaller area or your entire hand!! i once broke my phone and due to unforeseen circumstances I wasn’t able to get a new one for a couple weeks so I was forced to take time without it, and to be honest, it was beautiful! its nice to say “ah my phone wasn’t on me / my phone was broken so I couldn’t respond.“ since then I’ve done some time intentionally leaving my phone at home when I leave to have a bit of solace and experience the world around me for a moment without needing headphones in or checking notifications constantly. great stuff!!

calling people is nice, it gets you out of the dystopian neck-break of looking at your phone all day - put that thing to your ears and call me! talking is human!
