marked a turning point in my “style”. i remember fondly the pride i had when i finished it, even if i think there’s room for improvement looking back. would love to revisit it someday.

Very creative title I know. This is my favorite piece I’ve made. I feel that this was a turning point for my art. I felt like this really came from a heartfelt place. I’m so used to drawing simply what I think is cool or pretty. But this felt like it was actually fueled by a feeling. I feel like I’m improving on drawing from my heart rather than my mind.

after 4 years of consistent depression, i feel whole again. i’m not that good at drawing. but the meticulous action of filling in a little detail on a character, the small creases added at the corners of a smile, or the extra lines of thread you add to a sketch of pants makes me feel an intense pleasure for the small things around me
