i‘ve had a late 20’s lotr awakening.
watched all of the movies last year for the first time and DAMN do they hold up. special effects still dazzle, good balance of humor, viggo mortensen looking the sexiest a human has ever looked on screen.
read the first book slowly over several months while reading other books alongside it. the songs can be a bit much but it mostly slapped. i was surprised by how much it moved me.
finally finished and sprang for the uncut version the next day. simply an excellent use of time!!!!! will never forgive them for omitting tom bombadil and goldberry tho.

I agree with you entirely! Loved Tom Bombadil and Goldberry so much. We dressed as them for Halloween a few years ago and my son as Fatty Lumpkin lol

I havent actually seen the movies,, and I really really want to i’m sure i’d love them. I thought it'd be fun to read the books first tho. I’m about 2/3 of the way through and ive been reading it for a couple months now. Its taking me a while, which I expected, but i’m really enjoying it!! has anyone else read the books before watching the movies? If so, did you read all three books then watch all three movies or watch book 1 then movie 1 and etc. at what point did you read/ watch the hobbit?

that guy can really do every character they didn’t even need to make a movie I don’t think personally. ive been falling asleep to this and then waking up and starting the chapter over because I missed everything

my copy of LOTR (fellowship) is coming in the mail tomorrow and I couldn't be happier. I read The Hobbit back in january so let me know if the main “trilogy” lives up to it! it’s fun to buy things that mean something. it’s also fun to buy silly things. I can’t wait.

ideally i would love to gain the trust and respect of a corvid 🐦⬛ they love to give and receive tiny gifts and i relate to that.
goose and swan are also great options though a bit riskier since these guys can get mad as hell and those long necks are powerful
i would also love to volunteer at a raptor sanctuary and help take care of falcons, owls, etc.
i feel pretty sad and disturbed by most caged birds and having a parrot, for example is a massive emotional responsibility, their lifespans also mean it’s a lifelong commitment, i probably wouldn’t go this route but respect those who do it right 🫡
