i feel like so many times when i’ve gotten disheartened or uncomfortable when trying/learning something new or encountering an unexpected situation, ive just mindlessly strayed away. the reality is they were opportunities for growth and i neglected to think twice about it

this happened to me recently initially, it stung. for a few brief hours, I had a great big offended flare up of wounded pride but then I started reaping the benefits in the form of a clarifying dose of humility. Suddenly I was able to see and accept things about myself that I'd been avoiding accepting. And I could see that the assignment wasn't actually something I truly wanted; I just liked the idea of it, what it would have said about me to be asked, but in reality it would have been quickly toxic — and I can see that I dodged a bullet. The whole thing has actually highlighted a different direction that I know in my heart I want to go...just needed this nudge. Pain, sharpening, suffering: they can be so grounding and clarifying.

i think settling into your life is a feeling that creeps up on you. as someone who struggles with being present, i need to constantly practise gratitude or even my dream life kinda passes me by. i think it's human nature to be constantly looking for the next best thing, but it takes a lot of awareness to realize you've already made it on so many facets. thinking about my younger self and the pride they'd feel looking at present me is grounding and brings me lots of perspective.

get frustrated very easily when i'm learning something new. it was not always like this for me, or at least that is how i remember it. i get that i need to be more patient but it is annoying that i constantly worry about some other stuff and give up on stuff almost immediately.

its crazy to me we are now at a point where major companies are actively putting measures into their products to make them hard or impossible to fix on your own. if you take it anywhere else to get it fixed your warranty is now voided. i just paid like $1000 for this phone. do i even really own it if nobody but the company i bought it from can fix it? better yet you bring it to them and they will essentially do nothing but quote you for overpriced parts you don’t need or more likely just tell you to buy a new phone. thanks apple!!!
