Honoré Daumier was a badass realist and his moody paintings seem to be not so known as his caricature work — this canvas is only about 4x6in but it arrested me completely! @ the Barnes Foundation in PHL

didn’t want to add him to that favorite artists post because he Is Not. but this is def a top 20 painting for me and changed my life.
I went to the Met to look at a Kerry James Marshall painting but this piece by Max Beckmann just struck me on my way to the other gallery. an old man and I looked at it together for a while
going out is expensive and afternoons & evenings can be busy, invite someone over to your place before noon and make a pot of coffee — enjoy company for company’s sake 🥂
